Bedrot
---------
You've always tried to hide from the world whenever it became too much for you. This time, though, you're doing it a bit too well. Slowly, the line between reality and nightmare blurs beyond recognition...
---------
Features:
-A short, bleak story(no happiness here!!!)
-Point and click elements
-Absolutely no getting out of bed
-About 5-10 minutes of reading, with a single ending. Very long visual novel, I know.
---------
Made in 4 days for the 8th RPGMaker Horror Jam, hosted by Beregon and BroodyGaming!!!
Note: There is no Android version because I don't think the point and click elements will work very well with it :(
Another note: Prepare to be underwhelmed with this visual novel!
Aaaaaaand final note: This game is part of a universe shared by my main game, The Cardinal Park Case! If you liked this game, please check TCPC out!

What a wonderfully sad and unsettling story this was. Well done!
Allo. I had a lot of fun playing this game. I liked the different kind of horror so I made a video about it!
this is what my life is heading toward
This game feels too real.
pfe dude (pretty frickin' epic)
do you know what insanity means... and cardinal park cases is good? when is the next ending
and good job, people like you inspire me make games
There are moments in life that make you stop.. Moments that make you think.. Bedrot is one of them. The story of Emma and her downwards spiral is the most 'real' I have felt about a game in a very long time. The uneasy, claustrophobic feeling to be 'trapped' in a place that you see as your home and yet, you are suffocated by that same emotion.
Absolutely beautiful game. Very well done!
Ash
this feels too real
i felt to immersed
is this a peak into a future i could be barreling towards? a warning? a message of the inevitable?
10/10 good game i wouldnt play again. i am fine. i think
Is Emma a character in any of your other games. Because I know sometimes your games can be connected
Emma is a character from The Cardinal Park Case!
Ignore person torn btw (guy below me)
IT'S AMAZING
Realistic game jam game jam - itch.io
gambing
Guys I think we died
just a small feeling
NAHH I JUST SAW DISCLAIMER HAPPY END NOT INCLUDED IN GAME
WHY HAVE IT EXIST IN THE FIRST PLACE *Dies of suffocation from laughing too much*
had to stop playing. made me realize my antidepressants are actually working. 10/10 recommend
I bedrotted for like 3 months once so this was actually really realistic to how it was. I felt called out but it's good rep lol :P
very relatable
:(
She reminds me so much of how I was a few years ago... Kinda wish there were more endings, but I still really related to her, felt so seen (also that "b***h found dead!!!" made me laugh inside)
Did I ever tell you the definition of insanity?
yes Vaas. over 20 times.
This game is just my life at this point. I've missed so much work in school that it feels like there's no point trying to salvage it. The future is, as far as I can tell, hopeless. All my friends are so full of life meanwhile I'm just rotting away. I'm alive because I eat food, drink water, and sleep. I'm not alive for or because of anything else.
I feel like Im slowly becoming like the protagonist and I dont know what to do anymore
damn, never played a visual novel this raw and just overall real before
This really resonated with me! Loved.
This reminded me of my own bedrotting, and the story over all's really good too!
Hello! I came across your game and really liked its concept! I’m aspiring to become a video game localizer, but I need to gain hands-on experience. So here’s my proposal: I’d love to collaborate by translating your game into Russian. Since I’m new to game localization specifically, I’m happy to do this for free to build my portfolio. What do you think? If you are interested you can contact me. Discord: @valera._.

Forgot to read the description. Got the ending. Went to see if there was any ways out, any ways to help her, even if to live a little longer. Failed. Very much a sad game, horrifically relatable.
i dont know what i expected when i read the bio and it saying "no happiness here" but i think this will kill me if i play it again
sadface / 10
I actually felt so seen tbh
I liked the fact that this happens during "The Cardinal Park Case" game
I like shared universes
I liked it in it's simplicity! 5 out of 5 like the aforementioned game :3
Thank you for telling such a wonderful story of mental health issues people can go through! I left a positive message at the end of my video that would hopefully help people in this same situation!

Hey, I was thinking of translating this game to Brazilian Portuguese. Would be cool if you could hit me up
11/10 could smell her through the screen
Very interesting visual novel horror game. Sad, but interesting.
It worked on Android...
Really liked this game! The art style kinda reminded me of a specific artist... Lmao :3
Me too, but i cant remember which one.
In my case it reminds me of Frenks (frankdrawings) art style
great experience, is the music based off the krobak song?
Just copy and pasting my review, but this game is so dreadfully amazing! I wonder if the book was inspired by Crime and Punishment in any way... The main character's life and perspective on the world reminds me so much of Raskolnikov, who was also wasting his life away in his too-small room, hating the world and wasting his education while his sister is out in the world, trying to contribute SOMETHING unlike him.
The vines at the end of this game are very interesting too...I wasn't expecting something "supernatural" to happen but perhaps they aren't supernatural at all, but just something Alice made up in her mind to have an excuse to not get out of bed. She might think the vines have chained her to the bed, but in reality there is nothing holding her back from facing the world except for herself
i like the music
