---------

You've always tried to hide from the world when it becomes too much for you. This time, though, you're doing it a bit too well. Slowly, the line between reality and nightmare blurs beyond recognition...

---------

Features:

-A short, bleak story(no happiness here!!!)

-Point and click elements

-Absolutely no getting out of bed

-About 5-10 minutes of reading, with a single ending. Very long visual novel, I know.

---------

Made in 4 days for the 8th RPGMaker Horror Jam, hosted by Beregon and BroodyGaming!!!

Note: There is no Android version because I don't think the point and click elements will work very well with it :(

Another note: Prepare to be underwhelmed with this visual novel!

Aaaaaaand final note: This game is part of a universe shared by my main game, The Cardinal Park Case! If you liked this game, please check TCPC out!

Very interesting visual novel horror game. Sad, but interesting.

It worked on Android...

Really liked this game! The art style kinda reminded me of a specific artist... Lmao :3

(+1)

Me too, but i cant remember which one.

(+1)

In my case it reminds me of Frenks (frankdrawings) art style

great experience, is the music based off the krobak song?

Just copy and pasting my review, but this game is so dreadfully amazing! I wonder if the book was inspired by Crime and Punishment in any way... The main character's life and perspective on the world reminds me so much of Raskolnikov, who was also wasting his life away in his too-small room, hating the world and wasting his education while his sister is out in the world, trying to contribute SOMETHING unlike him.
The vines at the end of this game are very interesting too...I wasn't expecting something "supernatural" to happen but perhaps they aren't supernatural at all, but just something Alice made up in her mind to have an excuse to not get out of bed. She might think the vines have chained her to the bed, but in reality there is nothing holding her back from facing the world except for  herself

i like the music

damn this was REALLY effective and unnerving!

rotting away is just a neverending source of dread and self-reflection in concept alone, and this game makes excellent use of it. just the writing style and the way the environment & descriptions changed subtly which each day was not only tense but... honestly really depressing at the same time. i think the way the narration works is really clever; splitting it into the main character and a "narrator" makes everything seem even more unstable, like yeah at this point i'd also start talking to myself like i was two people haha. and how the dialogue and descriptions balanced dark humor with genuine moments of the main character thinking was really neat. it felt uncomfortable... but in a good way? like, that's definitely the feeling the game is trying to convey, and it does so extremely well.

(SPOILERS)

i think it was a really clever decision to not reveal a big "event" that sparked why the main character feels this way, instead just letting you get lost in these feelings, knowing as little as they do as to why everything is like this. and everything going further wrong (emma dying, food and trash filling the room, the power being cut) just further emphasizes how what they're doing isn't helping, and they know this, but can't bring themselves to change it for reasons even they don't know. it... well, it hit surprisingly hard haha. it's not difficult for me to get invested in a character getting lost in their own mind (idk if i should be worried about that but oh well), but the way it's done here feels like it takes a really unique angle :D

a liminace game having good art? wow what an original compliment- no but srsly tho, i really loved how the presentation aided the storytelling here. not only is the main character's design great (their baggy eyes and constant resting bitch face are a highlight), but the room itself becomes a character with a say in everything. every time i woke up and found something new, i couldn't tell if it was there the whole time, if it had changed, if it was normal or if it was supernatural... not helped by how moldy and disgusting everything looks lol. idk if that feeling of not knowing what changed and what didn't was intentional but it was a really immersive touch that made me connect even more with the character.

this is probably the most subjective complaint ever but... i don't love the visual novel UI? (the save, load, log, etc.) it probably needed to be there considering how much of the game is pure dialogue, but it broke my immersion a bit whenever i was really getting really invested. or maybe i'm just really used to your games not having those buttons lmao (also i think the log mechanic kind of breaks with messages that are too long? idk if that's a plugin and you can't really fix it but i thought i'd mention it). on the other hand, point and click!! i'm sure it's a lot easier to implement than it looks like but it genuinely breaks my brain whenever i see it in rpg maker games haha.

overall this was a fantastic game!! and a really disturbing thinking exercise to boot. genuinely impressive that this was made in 4 days, fantastic stuff.

I mightve forgot to upload this one... But I liked this one and as amazing as it was for you to make this in 4 days it was actually a really well put together story. I'm sure lots of people will say relatable and whatnot but from personal experience it really was for me, I really did have a plant murder me in my dorm! Thanks for making this and keep doing you, you amazing person you :)

A story about bedrot, the inability to do things and the despair that comes from it. The things described and experienced here are close to the heart, especially with the husk part and loneliness, and how it feels like there are no escape from all of it on times.

I guess most has been said now, but very well done and some are relatable.

(Also has no commentary.)

I really enjoyed reading through this game! What I like the most about how it's written is that the dialogue is very descriptive about Alice's emotions and the state of her room as time goes on, which I think does a very good job at establishing the game's atmosphere!

is there more than 1 end

Sorry for the late reply! There’s only one ending!

Hello There. Very nice story. Well okay not nice but you get what I mean

Spoilers.
This is the first one (I think) thats a full point and click from you. Nice change of paste. (I do find it funny that the option always dash is still in there. Because oww the amound dashing I have done is CrAzY). For the story itself its a interesting one. At the one side its pretty hard to make a story where the character does nothing but I do think you did it quiet nicely. What is she eating? She has been there for what we know more then 5 days. (Tasty flies Ig).

Final thoughts
A decent one person 4 days protect (Thought the choice to make this in the time you had wouldnt be something I would do but hey) Nice job and keep it up

And LiminAce did it again! I woke up at nearly 10 am today and was met with an announcement from itch.io that you released a new VN, and since I'm kinda on a break this week, there's really nothing much to do but playing your new game and making a playthru for it, guess it's the norm now😂

This one sure triggered some of my unhappy memories at college, glad that I was out of it before I even knew it (or did I..?). I feel like this is the most personal (and relatable) game ever that you've ever made up to this point (to me at least), even though it ends tragically (oops spoiler), I enjoy how the story progresses and the character is portrayed, how helpless and overwhelmed Alice must have felt when rotting away in that bed, almost like if there were sleeping pills laying around, she would down the whole bottle and enter eternal bliss. Midway through the game I had hoped she would at least take small steps by cleaning bits of the room, taking out the trash and plants, but as advertised, she just lives with it... I don't even want to wonder if her sis ends up performing autopsy on her.

And as usual, another early playthrough video, sooner than anyone else, please note I never meant to be the first or sth, I just happened to be here like the first day (come on Mr.Clockworks you even have a cameo in one of LiminAce's games don't be jealous about this jk). Few weeks ago I was staying up late past midnight, trying to complete some video projects, there were several nights like that so I somewhat feel what you'd feel like right now, get some rest! And I wish the best results to come to this game!
